Being faux humble instead of owning your truth and confidence will always significantly cause stress. Sometimes, the messages that come to mind with the most force are the ones we need to share. And today, my heart is heavy with a sense of urgency. What I'm about to say might ruffle a few feathers, and that's okay, because we can coexist with different views.

At some point, humility was elevated to this almost untouchable virtue, something we were all supposed to aspire to. But what if this idea of being "humble" is actually blocking your opulence? What if it’s holding you back from stepping into your fullness?

I’m here to tell you that faux humble is the root cause of many of our insecurities—both unconscious and conscious. It’s a learned behavior, one that keeps us shrinking in spaces where we are meant to expand.

The idea of being humble that’s been so heavily pushed onto women feels unnatural and even artificial to me. It encourages us to suppress our light, to dull down our greatness, and to constantly self-censor. It’s as if we’re saying, “I don’t want to appear too much.” But when you flow from your sovereign energy—when you truly embody your power—there’s no need for outside validation. There’s no need for excessive declarations about how amazing you are. What is, simply is.

The women who unapologetically say, “I’m that babe,” “I’m top tier,” “I’m radiant,” often trigger something deep in others. The itch of jealousy, envy, or judgment rises. You might hear whispers like, “Who does she think she is?” or “She isn’t perfect—she’s too X or not enough Y.” But this is where the shift happens. When you are fully in your power, you are untouchable.

2025 is the year to stop playing small. You are not meant to hide your greatness. You are not meant to shrink back or stay in the shadows just to make others feel comfortable. In fact, you will not be seen any higher if you try to remain humble and lowly. That’s not the key to success or fulfillment.

Your light is meant to shine unapologetically. It’s time to bloom without apology. Just like flowers that bloom without concern for anyone else, you are meant to take up space and stand in your beauty, power, and truth.

4 Actionable Steps to Stop Hiding Your Light

  1. Acknowledge Your Greatness:
It’s time to stop playing small. Recognize that your gifts, your energy, your skills, and your beauty are all unique—and that’s your power. Reflect on your achievements, no matter how big or small, and take pride in them. When was the last time you celebrated your wins? If it’s been a while, today is the day to change that.
  2. Release the Fear of Judgment:
The next time you hear that voice in your head telling you, “Who do you think you are?”, pause. Take a deep breath and shift your mindset. The truth is, their judgment has nothing to do with you and everything to do with their own insecurities. Recognize when you’re holding back because of fear, and decide in that moment to let it go. Let your radiance flow freely.
  3. Embrace Radical Self-Trust:
Stop waiting for permission to take up space. Trust yourself and your vision, even when the world around you may seem to disagree. This means trusting that you are deserving of success, happiness, love, and abundance. You don’t need anyone else’s validation to step into your power.
  4. Practice Sovereign Confidence:
When you embody your authentic self, you move from a place of grace and ease. There’s no need to overexplain, apologize, or diminish your presence. Sovereign confidence means knowing you are worthy and showing up fully, without fear of making others uncomfortable. Practice standing tall, speaking your truth, and moving with poise, just as you were born to do.
